Minneapolis Baby Photographer
I’m at a crossroads friends, and I need your advice. In the past year I’ve began to feel that I’ve outgrown my home studio. I thought my problems would be solved when we built our new house in Maple Grove. My new studio there would have given me about 1,000 sq ft to use as an office, prop storage, shooting area, and eventually a private bathroom for clients. But that dream has gone now. It’s a crazy long story, but for now we’re staying put and doing some major (unforeseen!) repairs to our house.
So I’m back to being in a space that is perfect for shooting in, but does not have the space for my office area and prop storage. I’m starting to think my only option is to start leasing a studio outside of my home. But where???? I’d love to stay in the West metro, especially for my clients who live farther out west and north/west. I’ve had little luck finding any spaces available on the West side of town though, and what I’ve seen just won’t work. There are plenty of great options in Minneapolis, but I’m not sure I want that commute again.
I’ve got some hard decisions to make. And I’m uneasy about leaving the only studio I’ve ever known and love. But I’m not sure staying is much of an option anymore. If you’re a client of mine or even if you’re not and have some input, would it make a difference to you if my studio was located in the West suburbs or Minneapolis? And I’ve always wondered, does it matter to you if photographer has a home studio vs. a commercial studio?
I loved the black & white and color versions of this photos so much I had to share both!
